I am having problems using FTP with Internet Explorer browser
This is primarily caused by incorrect syntax for the way that IE will recognize a domain name on a shared IP address.
Open Internet Explorer
- In the Address bar type in your information following this syntax:
- For the domain name HostMonster.com, this might look something like:
- This should bring up a window asking for the password.
- Enter the password and click Log on
A more secure way to use FTP transfer would be to use webdisk from within cPanel. This acts like using FTP through an IE browser but provides the use of a secure port for the transfer of data.
